Do you know Kelsey from ‘Little Bits Of’ – she is the food blogger who invented 1 month ago sweet potato toast. You heard right sweet potato TOAST, not toasted sweet potato or roasted sweet potato. No,she sliced a a sweet potato as if it were bread and put it into her toaster. And then she just put stuff on it for breakfast, and, yes, that mad her morning. As the net, is the net, one month was enough to create a new food fashion trend. So, if you want to be in style currently – eat sweet potato toast in the morning. It’s a thing!
…is the date that Sweden will see its first all vegeterian cooking show to be airing. A historic date, given that Swedes – maybe I am predjudiced – are either notoriously lazy to cook, or just love their meat. But, just like in the rest of the world, veganism and vegeterianism gain influence. More about the social importance of this event you can read here. The hostesses, Elenore Bendel Zahn and Karoline Jönsson, run by the way their own food blogs – in English and Swedish, respectively.
NPR radio has a blog called “the salt”. An absolutely fabulous source of information on food, food industry & production, trends and food enjoyment. A simple glance on their categories (“eating and health”, “foodways”, “producers”, “food for thought”, “for foodies”) is convincing enough to visit the site again. Since its radio, you can listen to all of their contribution. It was here that I stumbled across this very intriguing cooking book by Jennifer McLagan: “Bitter – a taste of the world’s most dangerous flavor, with recipes”.
